Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese until melted.
  6. Combine the cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, cherry tomatoes, and basil in a large bowl.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
