Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 package phyllo dough (16 oz), thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup hot honey

Instructions

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine feta cheese, spinach, ricotta cheese, dill, and green onions.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush with melted butter.
  4. Place another sheet of phyllo on top and brush with more butter.
  5. Cut the phyllo into strips about 3 inches wide.
  6. Place a tablespoon of the filling at one end of each strip and roll it up tightly, folding in the sides to seal.
  7. Place the rolled cigars on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the tops with more melted butter.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Drizzle with hot honey before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to keep the phyllo dough covered with a damp cloth while working to prevent it from drying out.
  • Hot honey can be adjusted to taste; add more for extra heat.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
