- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar, mozzarella, blue cheese, and Parmesan until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish.
- If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added crunch.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to mix and match cheeses based on your preference.
- For a spicier version, add some cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
