Description

A delightful fusion of fudgy brownies and banana bread, these Banana Bread Brownies are moist, rich, and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter into the mashed bananas until integrated.
  4. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best sweetness. Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies tender.
