- 2 medium-sized ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9 inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter into the mashed bananas until integrated.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use overripe bananas for the best sweetness. Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies tender.
