- 1 package of graham crackers
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 cup of mascarpone cheese
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup of rum (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat until bubbly.
- Add the sliced bananas and cook for 2-3 minutes until they are caramelized. Remove from heat and stir in rum if using.
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, mascarpone cheese, and vanilla extract. Whip until smooth and creamy.
- In a 9×13 inch dish, layer graham crackers at the bottom.
- Spread half of the cream mixture over the graham crackers.
- Add half of the caramelized banana mixture on top of the cream layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining graham crackers, cream mixture, and banana mixture.
- Top with chopped walnuts if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum.
- Make sure to use ripe bananas for the best flavor.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
