- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine chicken strips, olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the chicken mixture on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Warm the pita breads in the oven for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Assemble the gyros by placing chicken, tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion in the pita.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
