- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Yellow food coloring
- Orange food coloring
Instructions
- In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture is hot but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract until fully dissolved.
- Divide the mixture into two bowls. In one bowl, add yellow food coloring to achieve a bright yellow color. In the other bowl, add orange food coloring to achieve a vibrant orange color.
- Pour the yellow mixture into serving glasses, filling them about one-third full. Refrigerate for about 1 hour until set.
- Once the yellow layer is set, pour the orange mixture on top, filling the glasses to the rim. Refrigerate for another 2-3 hours until fully set.
