Caramelized Onion Bacon Jam is a delicious blend of sweet caramelized onions and savory bacon, perfect for spreading on toast or as a topping for burgers.

- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized, about 30-40 minutes.
- Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet with the onions.
- Stir in the brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to a jar.
Notes
- This jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- It pairs well with cheese and charcuterie boards.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar.
