Description

A warm, cheesy Chicken Parmesan Casserole that combines tender chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey cheese with perfectly cooked pasta.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., penne or rotini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: Fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shredded chicken, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir gently and heat through for about 5 minutes.
  3. Combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  4. Add the seasoned chicken to the pasta mixture and fold together until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes and garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

For make-ahead options, prepare the casserole the day before and store it in the fridge before baking.
