Description

A delightful blend of spices and tender chicken wrapped in pita or served over rice, accompanied by a creamy garlic sauce that enhances every bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Pita bread, rice, or salad greens for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a fragrant marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs into the marinade, ensuring every piece is coated evenly.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the fridge for at least one hour, preferably overnight.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Once hot, place the marinated chicken thighs on the grill or skillet, cooking for 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked through.
  6. While the chicken cooks, prepare the sauce by mixing the minced garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth.
  7. Serve the juicy chicken wrapped in warm pita, over rice, or atop a bed of greens, drizzled with the garlic sauce.

Notes

For optimal flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. If grilling is not an option, bake the chicken at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes.
