Description

Savory chicken street tacos with a blend of spices, topped with fresh cilantro and onion, served in soft tortillas.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, and all the spices. Whisk until well mixed.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until fully cooked and charred.
  4. Allow chicken to rest for a few minutes, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
  5. Warm tortillas on the skillet or over the flame until pliable. Fill each tortilla with chicken, diced onion, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavor. You can also cook the chicken in an air fryer or oven for a different texture.
