Description

Chocolate Covered Cherry Rice Krispies Treats are a delightful twist on the classic dessert, combining the flavors of chocolate and cherries with the crispy texture of Rice Krispies.


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
  3. Remove from heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal, mixing until well coated.
  4. Fold in the cherry pie filling gently.
  5. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and vegetable oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Spread the melted chocolate over the Rice Krispies treats.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
