Description

Indulge in the rich, fudgy texture of brownies topped with a creamy chocolate mousse, creating an exquisite dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate
  • Chocolate shavings or dusting of cocoa for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt 1 cup of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 2 cups of granulated sugar until combined and allow the mixture to cool.
  3. Beat in 4 large eggs one at a time, followed by 1 tsp of vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Sift in 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/2 tsp of salt. Fold gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. Melt 8 oz of semi-sweet chocolate with 1 cup of heavy cream. Stir gently until fully melted.
  7. Let the mixture cool slightly and gently fold it into whipped cream (whip an additional 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form).
  8. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Slice into squares and serve chilled, garnished with chocolate shavings or cocoa.

Notes

Prepare brownies and mousse a day in advance for better flavor melding. Ensure the mousse sets properly to cut clean slices.
