- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the tortellini in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak on both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Sear the steak in a hot skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil for about 4-6 minutes per side. Let it rest, then slice it against the grain.
- Prepare the sauce in the same skillet by melting the butter and sautéing the minced garlic until fragrant.
- Combine the heavy cream and milk, whisking continuously to integrate.
- Add the parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. Adjust seasoning.
- Mix in the cooked tortellini until well coated.
- Top with the sliced steak and garnish with parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute steak with plant-based alternatives and use cheese tortellini.
