Description
Crispy Cheese Borek with Chili Honey Drizzle is a delicious pastry filled with cheese and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey sauce, perfect for a snack or appetizer.

- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of feta cheese, crumbled
- 1 cup of ricotta cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1–2 teaspoons of chili flakes (to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the feta cheese, ricotta cheese, beaten egg, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Lay out one sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with olive oil.
- Place another sheet of phyllo on top and brush with more olive oil.
- Cut the phyllo into strips and place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of each strip.
- Fold the phyllo over the filling to form a triangle and continue folding until you reach the end of the strip.
- Place the borek on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with olive oil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- While the borek is baking, prepare the chili honey drizzle by heating honey in a small saucepan and adding chili flakes.
- Once the borek is done, drizzle the chili honey over the top and serve warm.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, ensure the cheese used is rennet-free.
- Adjust the amount of chili flakes based on your spice preference.
- These can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
