Description

A flavorful dish of crispy beef mixed with fluffy rice, topped with crunchy vegetables and a sweet-spicy sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 300g 5% fat beef mince
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 20ml dark soy sauce
  • 15ml sriracha
  • 10g tomato puree
  • 20g honey
  • 250g cooked rice
  • Optional toppings: sliced spring onion, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion, bell pepper, and garlic finely.
  2. Heat a wok or large frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and bell pepper, cooking for 1-2 minutes until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and stir for another 1-2 minutes.
  5. Increase heat and add the beef mince, cooking until browned and crisp.
  6. In a small bowl, mix dark soy sauce, sriracha, tomato puree, honey, and a splash of water.
  7. Pour the sauce into the pan with the beef, mixing well and cooking until thickened.
  8. Add the cooked rice and fold gently until heated through.
  9. Top with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds before serving.
