- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in chicken or vegetable broth, crushed tomatoes, dried basil, and dried oregano. Bring to a boil.
- Add broken lasagna noodles and cook until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
- Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.

- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground meat with mushrooms or lentils.
