Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine buttermilk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Blend the wet and dry mixtures, folding until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Spread melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 1.5-inch thick slices.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Whip together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over rolls.
