Description

French Dip Biscuits are a delightful twist on the classic French dip sandwich, featuring tender biscuits filled with savory beef and served with a rich au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the milk until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds.
  7. Place half of the rounds on a baking sheet and top each with sliced roast beef and cheese.
  8. Cover with the remaining rounds and seal the edges.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder; heat until warm.
  11. Serve the biscuits warm with the au jus for dipping.
