Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat a touch of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until the onions turn soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked onions to a mixing bowl and add the ground pork, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into rectangles, approximately 4 inches by 6 inches.
- Place a generous amount of the pork mixture onto the center of each rectangle.
- Roll the pastry around the filling tightly and pinch the edges to seal securely.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg.
- Place them on a lined baking sheet, allowing space between each roll.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Notes
Make the filling ahead of time and store in the fridge for up to two days. For a lighter option, try air frying at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes.
