Description

Delightfully crispy fried burrata balls served with a spicy, creamy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large burrata balls
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 0.25 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the burrata balls dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  2. Place the flour seasoned with salt and pepper in one bowl, beaten eggs in a second, and panko breadcrumbs in a third.
  3. Coat one burrata ball in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and roll it in the panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat with the second burrata ball.
  5. Heat about 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place the breaded burrata balls in the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix mayonnaise, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic in a small bowl until smooth.
  9. Arrange the fried burrata on a serving platter and drizzle with spicy sauce or serve it on the side. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

Make ahead options: Prepare the spicy sauce in advance and store in the fridge. You can also bread the burrata ahead of time and refrigerate before frying.
