Description

Ingredients
- Pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
- Butter
- Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- Garlic, minced
- Lemon juice
- Mushrooms (cremini or button), sliced
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, around 8-10 minutes. Reserve cup of pasta water before draining.
- Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat until it bubbles gently.
- Sauté Garlic and Mushrooms: Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir regularly and cook until golden, about 5-7 minutes.
- Combine with Pasta: Add drained pasta, grated parmesan, and lemon juice to the skillet. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water until creaminess is achieved.
- Season to Taste: Sprinkle with salt and pepper, adjusting seasonings as needed.
- Serve and Enjoy: Plate the pasta and garnish with additional parmesan or a twist of lemon.
Notes
For a vegan twist, substitute butter with olive oil and use nutritional yeast in place of parmesan.
