- 1 package German chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Stir in the coconut and pecans.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese layer.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cake mix.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
