- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 2 cups diced ham
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- In a large bowl, combine sliced potatoes, diced ham, sautéed onions and garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- In another bowl, mix heavy cream and milk, then pour over the potato mixture and stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a combination of cheeses.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
