Description

A delicious homemade lasagna layered with creamy ricotta cheese and rich marinara sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  7. Add a layer of marinara sauce and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese on top.
  9. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top layer.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  12. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

  • For a vegetarian option, ensure the marinara sauce is meat-free.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms between the layers.
  • Lasagna can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
