Description
A deliciously tender and juicy honey glazed ham that is perfect for any celebration.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Spiral Sliced Ham
- 1 Cup Honey
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard
- 1/4 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- Cloves (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) to create the perfect cooking environment.
- Mix the glaze: In a medium bowl, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar, whisking until smooth and well blended.
- Prep the ham: Place the spiral sliced ham in a roasting pan, ensuring that the cut side is facing down, which helps retain moisture.
- Brush the glaze: Generously brush the honey mixture over the ham, carefully allowing it to seep into the spiral cuts and infuse flavor. Use a basting brush for an even application.
- Cover and bake: Tent the ham with aluminum foil, and bake for about 90 minutes, basting every 30 minutes.
- Caramelize: Remove the foil for the last 20-30 minutes, allowing the glaze to caramelize and develop a beautiful, amber color.
- Garnish: If desired, stick whole cloves into the ham for an aromatic presentation.
- Rest before slicing: Allow the ham to rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Allowing the ham to come to room temperature before cooking helps it heat more evenly. Basting every 30 minutes keeps the ham moist.
