- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the heavy cream until the dough is smooth.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with granulated sugar and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
Notes
- For best results, use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar on top of the cookies.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving to let the caramelized sugar harden.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.
