Description

A decadent triple chocolate mousse cake layered with dark, milk, and white chocolate delights that create an extraordinary dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 tbs espresso powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 0.25 cups cornstarch
  • 8 oz dark chocolate
  • 8 oz white chocolate
  • 8 oz milk chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare baking pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk to blend.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, eggs, sour cream, oil, espresso powder, and vanilla until integrated.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently.
  5. Gradually stir in hot water for a smooth batter.
  6. Divide batter among pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Let cakes cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks.
  8. Melt dark chocolate for mousse, whip 1 cup cream until stiff peaks form, and fold into chocolate. Repeat for milk and white chocolate mousses.
  9. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, incorporate into milk and white chocolate mixtures.
  10. Once cakes are cooled, stack with layers of mousse in between.
  11. Chill the assembled cake for at least 4 hours.

Make-ahead tips: Prepare mousse layers a day in advance. Monitor baking temperature accurately to avoid dense cake.
