Description

Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet Potatoes
  • 4 cups Vegetable Oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp Cajun Seasoning
  • Fresh Parsley, for garnish
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Hot Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. Prep the Potatoes: Begin by peeling and slicing the Russet potatoes into thin strips, around 1/4 inch thick. Rinse them under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. Soak: Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry the Potatoes: In batches, add the soaked fries to the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  5. Season and Garnish: In a bowl, toss the hot fries with Cajun seasoning. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  6. Prepare the Dipping Sauce: In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, hot sauce, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until creamy.
  7. Serve with Love: Plate the crispy fries alongside the dip for serving.
