Description

Italian Stromboli is a delicious rolled pastry filled with a variety of meats, cheeses, and vegetables, perfect for a hearty meal or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz pepperoni, sliced
  • 4 oz salami, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Layer mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, salami, bell pepper, and onion on top of the sauce.
  5. Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the filling.
  6. Carefully roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, sealing the edges.
  7. Place the rolled Stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
