Description
A delicious and hearty twist on the traditional sweet potato casserole, loaded with toppings and flavors.
Ingredients

- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, then boil them until tender.
- Drain the sweet potatoes and mash them in a large bowl.
- Add milk, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the mashed sweet potatoes and mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Top with mini marshmallows, chopped pecans, and crumbled bacon if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown.
Notes
- For a vegan version, substitute milk with almond milk and butter with coconut oil.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
