Description

Savor the delicious combination of juicy pork chops, crispy bacon, and a creamy Dijon sauce in this comforting dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 4 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper & salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt & 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt to prepare the marinade.
  2. Coat pork chops evenly in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat or heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. For grilling: Grill pork chops for 4-6 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F.
  5. For pan-searing: Sear pork chops for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and whisk in flour to make a roux, cooking for 1 minute.
  7. Gradually add milk and heavy cream, whisking continuously until smooth. Allow to thicken for about 3-5 minutes.
  8. Stir in Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper; reduce heat and simmer for another minute.
  9. Place pork chops on plates and drizzle with dijon sauce before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate pork chops the night before. Rest cooked pork to keep it juicy.
