- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, butter, granulated sugar, and salt until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven.
- In another bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls over the pecan layer and swirl with a knife.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until set. Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, toast the pecans before adding them to the mixture.
- These bars can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
