Description

A hearty dish of tender ground meat combined with crispy potatoes, sautéed onions, and spices, creating a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, lamb, chicken, or turkey)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let sizzle until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; cook for another minute.
  4. Add ground meat, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned evenly.
  5. Toss in chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric, and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften, about 3–4 minutes.
  6. Add diced potatoes, stir well, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  7. Sprinkle in garam masala, stir, and let sit covered for a few more minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

Dish can be made ahead and stored in the fridge. Can also be cooked in a slow cooker or air fryer.
