Description

Pumpkin Swirl Earthquake Cake is a delicious dessert that combines the flavors of pumpkin and cream cheese in a unique, swirled cake that is sure to impress.


Ingredients

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 8 oz of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, pumpkin puree, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter, then pour the remaining chocolate batter on top.
  6. Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the chocolate batter.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cake mix.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • This cake can be served warm or cold.
