Description

Delicate red velvet macarons filled with creamy cream cheese that offer a perfect blend of elegance and taste.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl.
  3. Beat the egg whites until frothy, then gradually add the granulated sugar and whisk until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites gently, then add red food coloring and vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe circles onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Let the piped macarons sit for about 30 minutes to form a skin.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until they easily lift off the parchment.
  8. Beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract for the filling.
  9. Pipe the cream cheese filling onto one macaron shell and sandwich with another shell.
  10. Allow the macarons to rest for at least an hour before serving.
