Description

A simple and delicious recipe for Slow Cooker Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls that combines all the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls without the hassle of rolling them.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. In the slow cooker, layer half of the chopped cabbage.
  3. Spread half of the meat mixture over the cabbage.
  4. Pour half of the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes over the meat mixture.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining cabbage, meat mixture, and tomato sauce.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce, then pour it over the top.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
