Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the brown sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bread.
