Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Strawberry Pop-Tart Slab Pie that combines the classic flavors of strawberry and pastry in a fun, shareable format.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cold water until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll out half of the dough and place it in a greased baking sheet.
  6. Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the jam layer.
  8. Seal the edges and cut slits in the top for steam to escape.
  9. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Let it cool before drizzling with icing made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  12. Add sprinkles if desired.

Notes

  • For a more intense strawberry flavor, use fresh strawberries in addition to the jam.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
