- 1 head of cabbage, leaves separated
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh or dried herbs (such as parsley or thyme)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic for about 5 minutes.
- Combine ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs in a mixing bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Arrange rolls in a baking dish, seam-side down, and cover with tomato sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for about 1 hour.
- Serve warm with fresh bread or salad.
