Description

Comforting stuffed cabbage rolls filled with seasoned ground meat and rice, topped with tangy tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, leaves separated
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh or dried herbs (such as parsley or thyme)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for about 2-3 minutes until tender.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs in a mixing bowl.
  5. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
  6. Arrange rolls in a baking dish, seam-side down, and cover with tomato sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for about 1 hour.
  8. Serve warm with fresh bread or salad.

Notes

Feel free to customize the filling with different proteins or add vegetables for extra nutrition.
