Description

Sweet Potato Cinnamon Rolls are a delightful twist on the classic cinnamon roll, featuring a soft and fluffy dough infused with sweet potato and topped with a creamy frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add mashed sweet potatoes, melted butter, and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread brown sugar and pecans on top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For the frosting, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.
