Description

Delicious and festive chocolate chip cookies perfect for summer celebrations and the Fourth of July.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk the dry ingredients in a medium bowl: mix together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy and light.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, mixing until well combined.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and sprinkles, folding them into the dough.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes
