Description

These brownie cookies are the perfect combination of fudgy brownies and chewy cookies, with a delightful chocolate explosion in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients in a bowl: combine melted butter and brown sugar until smooth, then beat in eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Combine dry ingredients in another bowl: sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Add chocolate chips and walnuts, folding them gently into the dough.
  6. Shape rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm but centers remain soft.
  8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For make-ahead options, refrigerate the dough for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
