Description

A stunning tart showcasing the freshness of summer ingredients with creamy burrata, ripe tomatoes, and a touch of balsamic glaze, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (thawed but cold)
  • 1 Large egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella
  • 23 Large vine-ripe tomatoes (sliced thick)
  • 2 balls Fresh Burrata cheese
  • Handful Fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • Salt & Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup Balsamic glaze
  • 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently score a 1-inch border around the edge and prick the center area with a fork.
  3. Brush the edges with beaten egg wash and sprinkle shredded mozzarella inside the scored border.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the edges are puffed and golden brown.
  5. Remove the crust from the oven and arrange thick tomato slices on top of the melted cheese.
  6. Tear the Burrata into pieces and distribute over the tomatoes, then scatter fresh basil leaves.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil to finish.

Notes

Make-ahead: Assemble the tart and refrigerate for up to an hour before baking. Customize with different toppings like roasted peppers or artichokes.
