Description

A vibrant and delicious Caprese Baguette that combines fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fragrant basil for a perfect summer dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette, fresh and crusty
  • 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, sliced
  • 23 Tomatoes, ripe and sliced
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, freshly cracked, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill or oven to medium-high heat (400°F or 200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise, exposing the airy interior.
  3. Layer fresh mozzarella slices on the bottom half, followed by thick slices of tomatoes.
  4. Add fresh basil leaves on top of the tomatoes.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to enhance flavors.
  7. Grill the baguette for about 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is crunchy.
  8. Serve warm, cut into individual pieces.

Notes

For make-ahead tips, prepare the tomato and mozzarella layers before grilling. Feel free to customize with pesto or prosciutto.
