Description

A comforting dish of ziti pasta, ground beef, marinara sauce, and melty cheeses, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese (or substitute with mozzarella)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (plus extra for topping)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet with diced onion and minced garlic until beef is browned.
  4. Mix in marinara sauce, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
  5. Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce and ricotta in a large bowl.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, topping generously with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

For make-ahead, prepare one day in advance and refrigerate. Allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
