- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 15 oz ricotta cheese (or substitute with mozzarella)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (plus extra for topping)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet with diced onion and minced garlic until beef is browned.
- Mix in marinara sauce, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
- Combine cooked pasta with meat sauce and ricotta in a large bowl.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, topping generously with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
Notes
For make-ahead, prepare one day in advance and refrigerate. Allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
