Ingredients

  • 4 Salmon Fillets, Skin-On
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil (or Avocado Oil)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Minced Garlic
  • 1 Shallot (Optional)
  • ½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Lemon Juice and Zest
  • ½ cup Chicken Broth
  • Fresh Parsley or Dill (for Garnish)

Instructions

  1. Sear the salmon. In a large skillet, heat butter and oil over medium-high heat. Season the salmon with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear skin-side down for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 2 minutes; remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté the aromatics. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter, minced garlic, and shallots; sauté for one minute.
  3. Create the sauce. Pour in chicken broth to deglaze, reducing it by half. Lower heat, whisk in heavy cream, lemon juice, and zest. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Coat the salmon. Return the salmon to the sauce, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.

Notes

Make ahead options: Prepare sauce in advance and store in the fridge. Reheat gently before adding seared salmon.
