Description
Indulge in a savory creamy mushroom sauce poured over perfectly cooked steak, paired with crispy golden fries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 high-quality steaks (such as sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 lb potatoes, cut into thick fries
- 1 cup cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt, cracked black pepper, and fresh parsley to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the potato strips in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them on a baking sheet.
- Roast for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
- Season your steaks with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over high heat and drizzle in a little oil. Sear the steaks for about 3–5 minutes on each side.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest to lock in moisture.
- Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until browned, around 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Pour in the heavy cream and let it simmer until thickened.
- Serve the rested steaks on plates, topped with the creamy mushroom sauce and paired with the crispy fries, garnishing with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half. For a vegetarian option, use portobello mushrooms instead of steak.
