Description

Delicious artisan bread with a crunchy crust and fluffy interior, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 1.5 cups warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast (or instant yeast)

Instructions

  1. Combine ingredients: In your mixing bowl, combine bread flour and salt. Mix well before adding warm water and yeast.
  2. Mix to form dough: Stir the mixture until it comes together into a shaggy mass.
  3. Knead the dough: Dust your work surface with flour and knead for about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf or oval; let it rest on parchment paper for 30-60 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  7. Score the top of the dough with a knife and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For better flavor, let the dough rise in the fridge overnight. You can add herbs or cheese for customization.
