Description

A delightful crustless pizza bowl that offers all the flavors of pizza without the carbs, featuring sautéed vegetables, hearty meat, and a cheesy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell peppers, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup low-carb marinara sauce (no sugar added)
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with your oven-safe ramekins.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms; cooking for about 4–5 minutes until softened.
  4. Just before they reach perfection, add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Push the sautéed veggies to one side of the skillet for the meat.
  6. Add the ground beef or turkey, seasoning with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until fully browned.
  7. Stir in the low-carb marinara sauce and crushed red pepper flakes, letting it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  8. Divide the meat sauce mixture among the prepared bowls, topping with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until the cheese bubbles and turns golden brown.
  10. Allow cooling for 2–3 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

You can make-ahead the meat and veggie mixture a day in advance. For a crispy finish, consider using an air fryer.
